Conquering Fear and Anxiety in Daily LifeExercise And Eat Healthfully
Your diet and exercise routine are also connected to the amount of stress in your life. By eating right and exercising you can reduce your anxiety. Eating right means eating a balanced diet. A balanced diet contains protein, grains, dairy products, and plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables. Do not worry about dieting to lose weight or vastly restricting your diet. Instead, try to eat in moderation—not too little and not too much of any one item. Try to stay away from caffeine, which is found in coffee, tea, chocolate, and soft drinks, as well as nicotine, which is found in cigarettes. These substances affect your body in ways that can increase your anxiety. If you eat a balanced diet, eat in moderation, and avoid caffeine and nicotine, you will keep your body healthy.
Also, try to exercise regularly. Thirty minutes to an hour of exercise three times a week gives your body the workout that it needs to stay in shape. Do whatever type of exercise you like best. Jog, bike, practice martial arts, dance, or just walk at a brisk pace—they are all great forms of exercise.
Exercise has mental benefits, too. It is good for your mind as well as your body. Exercise gives you time to clear your mind and focus on something other than your worries. You can work off some of your tension by getting your body moving. When you are done, you will be calmer and more relaxed.
