Speech therapists work with people on communication skills. Communication skills can include talking, using sign language, or using a communication aid (a tool, device, or piece of equipment that helps the person communicate). Children or adults with CP who are able to talk can work with a speech therapist to make their speech clearer and easier to understand, or on building their language skills by learning new words, learning to speak in sentences, or improving their listening skills.
