Coping with DyslexiaReading Pictures

Jason can't read words well So he “reads pic tures” instead. In school, he figures out a story by looking at the pictures. When shopping for a birthday card, he looks for a picture of a cake on the cover. In restaurants, he orders from food pic tures on the menu.

But reading pictures doesn't always work for Jason. Some books have few pictures. Some menus have no pictures. Once Jason bought a birthday card for his girlfriend. It had a pretty cake on the cover. But Jason was embarrassed later. The card he bought turned out to be for an anniversary.
