Getting Help

Certified Alcohol And Drug Counselor (cadc)

CADCs are professionals in the drug and alcohol field. They spend their lives helping people who are addicted. They can help you in more ways than anyone else.

CADCs are trained to counsel individuals who are addicted to drugs and alcohol. They can help you talk to your parents about the problem. They can also help you decide what steps to take to overcome your addiction.

To find a CADC, look in the yellow pages of the telephone directory under alcoholism or drug counselors. You will find the letters CADC written after the counselors’ names.

If you have been using depressants and have stopped for a day or two, your body could be going into withdrawal. The symptoms of withdrawal are nausea, extreme nervousness, shakiness, stomach cramps, excessive sweating, convulsions, and delirium (seeing, hearing, or feeling things that are not there). If you experience any of these symptoms, call 911 immediately.
