Cerebral Palsy Then and NowNo One Is To Blame

Almost all families of people with cerebral palsy worry about the cause and wonder why it happened. This is a very normal and understandable response. Parents often blame themselves for something they may or may not have done during the pregnancy or at birth. However, usually the event that caused the condition could not possibly have been prevented by them. It is far better if these families discuss their problems and share their concerns with each other, and with the professionals and other persons involved in the care of their children, than if they live in a state of continual guilt, blame, and worry.
