What Causes DepressionWhere Long-term Stress Can Lead

Think about riding a bicycle hard and rough, day after day, jumping off curbs and making fast stops from high speeds. Constant stress and pressure will shake the bicycle's bolts loose and cause its frame to bend or break.

The same things happen to people under stress. Constant strain, and wear and tear on the body and mind cause a breakdown, both mental and physical. Stress can—and very often does—lead to depression. When that happens, only a trained specialist, using the proper therapy, can help a depressed person get well again.
