Phobias
What Causes a PhobiaMany More Theories
Although the behavioral theory is generally considered the most probable, psychologists and psychiatrists have many more theories about what causes a phobia. Phobias seem to run in families, although no one is certain why. Perhaps they are passed on biologically from parent to child. Perhaps family members simply learn phobic behavior from one another. As mental health professionals continue to research phobias, they hope to be able to answer some of these questions.
