Dams - Classification Of Dams, Dam Construction, Impact Of Dams

Dams are structures designed to restrict the flow of a stream or river, thus forming a pond, lake, or reservoir behind the wall. Dams are used for flood control, for production of hydroelectric power, to store and distribute water for agriculture and human populations, and as recreation sites.

Planet of Earth Energy Crisis.

Dear Sir,

The Subject matter is all over the World facing Energy problem, So I am trying to Explain an idea for Old & New Dams / Reservoirs Hydro electric projects Civil Design Geometry Can be modifying in Architectural Transition to increase our energy potential. Because we are Losing heavy quantum of already storage water in our Big Dams and its relevant projects to generate Hydro Electric old technology, Now it must be need to convert into new theory of Scientific Technology as per utilizing in the way of experiment with foreign expertise at any Hydro electric base Model of concern Department or forum to finalize the following unique and entire world Globalize developing idea for its further implementations in the current ongoing and next coming future Hydel projects as soon as possible.

Thanks.

Planet of Earth Energy Crisis.

Sir,

The Subject matter is all over the World facing Energy problem, so I am trying to explain an idea for Old & New Dams / Reservoirs Hydro electric projects Civil Design Geometry of an open culvert type Pen stock with its respective new position can be modifying in Architectural Transition to increase our energy potential, requirements. Because we are using heavy quantum of already storage water in our Big Dams and its relevant projects to generate Hydro Electric Energy, Now it must be need to modify and convert into new theory of this Scientific Technology as per utilizing in the way of experiment with foreign expertise at any Hydro electric base Model of concern Department or forum to finalize the following unique and entire world Globalize developing idea for its further implementations in the current ongoing and future Hydroelectric projects.

Please Focus & implementations in the following areas / sectors like:

A. The subject idea can be utilize from Dams / reservoirs other related source of water storage points in this scenarios at upstream intake of open culvert type Pen stock from a level of constant water table flowing velocity positively going on without any Discrimination in proper time frame of whole year or require time period to generate the hydro power.

B. The flowing water areas like Rivers, Canals, and upstream Valleys same criteria of water sources can be use for the subject matters of our hydro energy generation sector future developments.

C. the Canalization of our water sources to make new routes for agriculture and electrical requirements of our community’s consumption with social sector also can provide power generation to main Grid system supporting to add energy in any country upon the utilization of subject idea.

D. Due to the lake of water sources in near future of entire World problem can face up lift by pumping water storage from our water sources like Sea, Dams, and Reservoirs by Solar & Wind energy forms, Parks can make extra storage water areas reserve because the Sun and Wind is going on the way every time so after the collection of water new locations can generate hydroelectric power easily.

Sir myself need to be consult a proper forum regarding the situation now I am able to communicate with your good self, Please considering some point of views:

1. The subject Idea come into my mind in January 2011 .

2. Research papers / Calculations / Designs mechanisms & criteria must be considered / abstracts need to be developing after consultations the subject matter with foreign expertise at experimental basis.

3. Theories & ideas can be implementing upon debating at worldwide conversations / findings with its facts and figures must be considered positively.

4. A proper proposal needs to be describing because this one is a serious issue for entire world to escaping the current energy crises.

5. The subject Idea can be implement upon its finalize Design criteria with methodology must be Liaise in near future as well as your kind and positive action accordingly more efficiently produce hydro energy capability generation in the new term of way.

Thanks.

Sir about myself:

My Name is Shabbir.

Qualification: School certificate.
Technical Course of Surveyor in 1982.
Then start as a Land Surveyor Job in different Companies of Pakistan.During in 30 years job period mostly work on Topographic & as built site Surveys and mapping works. Observations & Knowledge came through from different Projects and Sites in the due course of my whole life.
Hoping for a positive response will be coming soon.

I am in the process of preparing manuals for a few dams and are using training manuals about the terminology of dam components and workings. What I am struggling with is that nobody has a clear idea or maybe cannot explain to me how to define a category II and Category III dam, as they comment that a category I dam is only a small earthen wall I understand, but how do they define the other two? I must put this on the cover on each manual and they supplied the info to me, but "I need it explained or defined my own understanding". It does not help me to know that a dam is categorised by its purpose, structure, etc. There are too many variables not explained and I need them please. Help me if you can?
