Social Networks and Chat Rooms
Some websites serve as places where friends can connect, put up pictures, and keep in touch. These are called social networking sites and have become very popular in recent years.
Two of the most popular sites for teenagers are Facebook (www.facebook.com) and MySpace (www.myspace.com).
Websites officer a couple of different ways for you to communicate online. Two common types of online communication are chat rooms and message boards. In a chat room, you can only communicate with those who have signed up to enter the same room of a specific website.
Message boards usually have a number of responses to a single subject that you can read or contribute to. These allow people to connect with others who have similar interests.
